Visual Artist 2008- Michael James

Combining the Meadowlark Music Festival with a visual artist has been an exciting collaboration. This year we proudly announce Michael James, an internationally known quiltmaker, as the 2008 Meadowlark Music Festival Visual Artist. The work created for Meadowlark will join The Meadowlark Collection at the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney, Nebraska.

James joined the University of Nebraska Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design in 2000 and is a faculty fellow of the International Quilt Study Center.

Along with his many national recognitions, he was recently honored as a recipient of the Governor's Arts Award as Artist of the Year. For more information on Michael James, visit http://www.unl.edu/mjames_quilts/.
