Meadowlark News

Plans are well underway for the 2017 Meadowlark Music Festival. While it’s too early to share all the details, we can share that the festival will take place July 13-16. We are excited to share that we have artists confirmed from Italy, Turkey, and the USA and, in a Meadowlark first, we are thrilled to share that we have commissioned a brand new piece for the festival! More on all this and a new website coming soon!

Thank you for a marvelous 2016 Festival!

“Lincoln, America’s Happiest City” – Gallup, 2013

I invite you to join with me and the Meadowlark Board of Directors as we strive to enhance your happiness with world-class music events in charming and intriguing places.
- Hans Sturm, Executive and Artistic Director Meadowlark Music Festival

Founded in 2000, winner of the 2006 Governor’s Arts Award and called “the festival to watch” by Chamber Music America, the Meadowlark Music Festival brings the best in chamber music to Nebraska.

For 16 years the Meadowlark Music Festival has been Nebraska’s premier international summer chamber music festival bringing world-class artists to unique settings across the city of Lincoln from the International Quilt Museum to the Sunken Garden to the skyboxes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium. Performers are likewise diverse and have included such international talents as the Grammy-nominated Chiara String Quartet, the Australian Guitar Duo, the Rastrelli Cello Quartet, and the Boston Brass. Concerts are family friendly and musicians come to perform and interact with audiences and talented students. Please join us this summer and enhance your happiness!

A 501 (c) 3* nonprofit organization, the Meadowlark Music Festival’s mission is to make classical music a necessary component of every Nebraskan’s definition of “The Good Life.”
